Nice space– we were able to fit a queen air mattress and a double air mattress in the main room. Used the “front porch” area as a closet. Comfortable. Fairly easy to put up. Heavy. BUT… we only used this tent for 3 weekend camping trips and on the 4th two of the poles split and broke.

I purchased the Eddie Bauer Tamarack 2 Room Family Dome Tent a year ago for a two night camping trip. This year my family and I took it on a five night trip. I found it to be pretty sturdy and unlike the last review, it didn’t seem the poles were flimsy enough to break. It withstood a couple of rainstorms nicely though it hasn’t been subjected to heavy winds at all. I assume it would do well since there are several stakes to secure it, but I don’t know. There are lots of screen windows for good ventilation and there are zippered window flaps to bring up when the weather turns bad. Again, no leaks or problems.
The Tamarack says it fits 7 but we have somewhat oversized air mattresses so we could fit three in the main room and one in the front room. It’s a bit of a hassle if you have to get up in the middle of the night since all but the person in the front room has to crawl over mattresses to get out, but it wasn’t a huge deal. The tent also has a privacy door if you need it between the main and front rooms. The tent can be set up with one person but a couple of steps really require a second person involved. The tent also has some good storage pockets to hold keys, wallets, etc. The tent floor seems pretty rugged but I’d invest in a footprint or pad since you can feel any rock or stone beneath the floor when walking.
During the day we put the air mattresses on top of each other to create more room. With the oversized air mattresses it’s a perfect tent for three people, but I may try something a little larger next year.
