Module NFL Icon The Kansas City Chiefs opened as 2.5 point underdogs against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday in the Coliseum according to Sportsbook. That was slightly surprising contemplating the Chiefs are 5-2 but the Raiders are starting to come alive with 73 points scored more than the last two weeks.
Betting on sports, note that each teams are coming off consecutive wins in Week 7 and 8. We recommended that with the Raiders rise in recent weeks, plus the Chiefs very first place standing in the division, this was the largest game in eight years for the Raiders. They're also trying to complete one thing they haven't accomplished in eight years that is to beat the Chiefs in their own place. Indeed the Raiders have not beaten the Chiefs in Oakland since 2002.
Six of those seven Chiefs victories came by a touchdown or less which should tell you all you'll need to know about this rivalry.
The Trent Green/Dick Vermeil era dominated the Raiders at home as did the Herm Edwards/Damon Huard/Brodie Croyle/Tyler Thigpen era which in 2008 won only one other game outside from the road win at Oakland, after which there is the Todd Haley/Matt Cassel era who kicked items off correct with a victory in Oakland a year ago.
Playing in the Black Hole is tricky but the Chiefs have mastered the art of it in recent years. It doesn't hurt that the Raiders have been, nicely, pretty terrible during that time span. If we're going to think history, this may be a close game -- but a Chiefs victory.
Oakland Raiders rookie middle linebacker Rolando McClain briefly broke his extended silence for the media to make a plea to Raiders fans to come out to this week's game, proclaiming that if enough fans come out to sell out a game, then he will talk to the media. McClain has not accomplished an interview with the neighborhood media due to the fact the season opener against Tennesee on September 12th. He has declined numerous requests considering that then. When asked Monday if he had time to talk, McClain stated he wouldn't give an interview until the Raiders sold out a game.
